Supporting your birth journey
Supporting your birth journey
Our Model of Care
At Doula Care we offer comprehensive support through our Primary and Secondary Support model of care. Here is an overview of the Support.
Primary Doula Support: The primary doula will be your main point of contact and provide support throughout your pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period. She will offer various forms of communication such as telephone, text or email support to address non-medical questions or concerns you may have. She will review your birth preferences with you, helping you understand your options for birth and how she can assist you in getting the information you may need to make informed decisions. Your Primary doula will also offer two workshops that will provide you and your partner with valuable education and information in preparation for birth. One workshop is called Hands On Comfort Measures and the other is on Breastfeeding basics and introduce you to baby wearing. She will attend your birth and provide emotional, physical and informational support throughout the process. After birth your doula will offer a postpartum visit when you are ready. She will answer any non-medical questions or point you in the direction of any resources she may have.
Secondary Doula Support: A Secondary Doula from our team acts as a backup and will step in if the Primary Doula is not available. She will provide support and attend your birth, ensuring you receive the support that was discussed with the Primary Doula.
We are independent, like minded doulas who provide non-medical support. We respect the decisions made by the birthers who place their trust in us.
We attend home and hospital and work respectfully with ALL caregivers.
We work with those that desire support no matter how many births they have had. We work with those who have a low risk or high risk birth, those that are expecting a multiple and those who desire a VBAC.
We offer support to all birther's and their support(s).
We look forward to supporting your birth journey.

"You are constructing your own reality with the choices you make . . . or don't make. If you really want a healthy pregnancy and joyful birth, and you truly understand that you are the one in control, then you must examine what you have or haven't done so far to create the outcome you want."
